A wonderful family photo album form the Atlanta and Dublin Georgia areas. The photos appear to range from the very early 1900’s through to the 1950-60’s.

Obituary:

James Edison Varner Jr passed away March 6. He was born 2/27/1922 in Dublin, GA and came to Atlanta while still an infant. He was predeceased by his Mother and Father, Myra Daley Varner and James Eidson Varner, Sr. He is survived by his Wife, Mildred Price Varner, his Cousin, June Daley of Wrightsville, GA, a Son, John and his Wife Carol, a Daughter, Brenda and her Husband Daniel, 2 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild, Best Friend and fishing buddy, Henry Rogers and his Wife, Mary Helen. He graduated from Boys High School in 1939 and Emory University in 1943. He served in the Navy in World War II, reaching rating of Lt, Sr. Grade. He was employed by Standard Federal S & L in 1949 where he was Vice President many years, then President from 1977 until 1983 when they merged with Anchor Savings Bank of N.Y. Then was President of the Ga. division of Anchor until his retirement in March, 1986. Horis A. Ward, Stone Mountain Chapel, 1355 Rockbridge Rd, is handling arrangements. . Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 9th at Arlington Memorial Park, 201 Mount Vernon Rd, N.W., Atlanta, GA. Please omit flowers. Make any donations desired to Paralyzed Veterans of American, 7 Mill Brook Rd, Wilton, N.H. 03086, or your favorite charity.
